A new memecoin known as Operation Big Balls has received online attention after a recent controversy with Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The Big Balls term started trending after CNN ran a news segment about 19 year old Edward Coristine, a young worker in DOGE. That led to his online nickname, “Big Balls” to catch the attention of the internet and there have been memes and jokes on social media.
Things got even hotter when reports were surfaced showing Coristine’s company Tesla.S*xy LLC had web addresses linked to Russia. His background and security clearance were cause for concern to some experts. Meanwhile, another DOGE worker was outed for his previous social media posts, and 25 year old Marko Elez was exposed. His offensive posts resulted in his resignation.

I obviously disagree with some of Elez’s posts, but I don’t think stupid social media activity should ruin a kid’s life.
We shouldn’t reward journalists who try to destroy people. Ever.
So I say bring him back.

As the internet came and went with these events, crypto fans flipped and began to make the ‘Operation Big Balls’ memecoin. Within hours, the coin was popular on Pump.fun, a site frequented by other projects that launched joke based cryptocurrencies. Within a few hours its market sale had reached approximately US$200,000.
The memecoin continues to bask in the spotlight due to the controversy surrounding DOGE as well as CNN’s coverage of it. It’s either a joke or it’s a way that some have chosen to support Musk and his team. Politicians and experts are battling meanwhile over whether Elez should be left defending DOGE’s hiring choices.
“Big Balls” is still a fast growing cryptocurrency and online trend, proving just how quickly real world news can become digital currency for the internet world.
